About NoventisLab
NoventisLab LTD is a UK-registered product studio that designs, builds and operates its own software portfolio. Our products are live and used every day: mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play, a logistics SaaS platform (KolaySüreç) used by transport companies for real-time fleet and delivery operations, an online vignette service for European highways (SilayoluVignet), a shared-inbox tool for teams (Noventis Inbox) and a fully automated, AI-driven news network.
We are a small, senior team that ships frequently. Quality is not a phase at the end of our process — it is how we earn our users' trust. We are now looking for an experienced external QA Engineer who can test our products from the outside and review our code from the inside.
The role
As our QA Engineer you will own quality across the full delivery cycle — from the pull request to the store release. You will review code changes, strengthen our automated test coverage and put every build of our iOS, Android and web products through rigorous testing before it reaches users. You will work remotely and closely with the founder and engineering, with real influence on what ships and when.
This is a remote, contract-based engagement with flexible hours, organised around our release cycles.
Key responsibilities
Code quality and review
- Review pull requests for correctness, edge cases, error handling, security and maintainability, and give clear, actionable feedback
- Read and reason about code across our stack — TypeScript (Next.js, NestJS, React Native / Expo), Dart (Flutter), Kotlin and PHP
- Write and maintain automated tests: unit, integration, API and end-to-end
- Spot risky patterns early: missing input validation, race conditions, data-loss scenarios, broken migrations and insecure handling of secrets or user data
- Help improve our CI checks, linting and static analysis so issues are caught before review
Product and release testing
- Plan and execute functional, regression and exploratory testing for iOS and Android releases via TestFlight and Google Play testing tracks
- Test our web platforms and APIs end to end, across browsers, screen sizes and network conditions
- Validate critical journeys: onboarding, sign-in, in-app purchases and subscriptions, payments, push notifications, background location and offline behaviour
- Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected versus actual results, severity, logs, screenshots and screen recordings
- Verify fixes, perform release-candidate sign-off and help prioritise issues with the team
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software QA, test engineering or software development with a strong quality focus
- Ability to read, understand and review production code — strong JavaScript/TypeScript is essential; Dart, Kotlin or PHP is a plus
- Hands-on experience writing automated tests (e.g. Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Cypress, Flutter test, Maestro or Appium)
- Confident with Git and GitHub pull-request workflows
- Solid API testing skills (Postman or similar) and a good understanding of REST, HTTP and databases (SQL)
- Practical experience testing iOS and Android apps, including TestFlight and Google Play internal/closed testing
- Access to at least one physical iOS or Android device (access to both platforms is a strong advantage)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication in English
Nice to have
- Turkish language skills — several of our products serve Turkish-speaking users and businesses
- Security testing basics (OWASP Top 10, authentication and authorisation flaws)
- Performance and load testing experience (k6, Lighthouse or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Docker and reading server logs
- Exposure to payment flows, subscriptions or logistics / fleet-tracking software
What we offer
- Fully remote work with flexible hours
- Direct collaboration with the founder — short feedback loops, no bureaucracy
- A diverse, real-world product portfolio and tech stack across mobile, SaaS, payments and AI
- Real ownership of quality, with a direct say in code reviews and release decisions
- The opportunity to grow into a long-term collaboration as our portfolio expands
Hiring process
- Application review — we read every application personally
- A short introductory video call
- A practical task: review a real pull request and test a build of one of our live products
- Offer and onboarding
